Topsy Chapman and MJB - Fine and Mellow (1993)

This was recorded live the 23rd of August 1992 at Cosmopolite in Oslo, at Magnolia Jazzband's twentieth anniversary.

For the last ten years Tospy Chapman has often times accompanied MJB, amongst others at several jazz festivals and church and club concerts. In 1984 they toured together in Singapore.

Just a Little While with Aline White and MJB (1991)

This was recorded 21th of November 1989 at Composer's Recording Studio (CRS), in New Orleans.
 
Through/during their visit/stays in New Orleans, MJB got to know Aline White, who also held concerts in Norway. She quickly became one of the bands favorite singers.

With Aline White's genuine and unpretentious performance and the delicate interplay with MJB, the listeners are exposed to the genuine, traditional New Orleans gospel.

On this record MJB plays a great variety of melodies, from typical brassband to everygreens and ballads. MJB shows/demonstrate how different kind of music make up adequate materials for a New Orleans jazzband.

MJB and Lillian Boutté -
New Orleans Gospel in Molde Kirke (1991/81)

This was recorded live at Molde church on the 5th of August 1981, during the Jazzfestivalen in Molde the same year.

Lillian Boutté is borned and raised in New Orleans. MJB met and played with Lillian for the first time in 1979/1980, and when planning the church concert in Molde there was no doubt who was their favorite singer.
